President's Message
Esteemed members of the Nigerian American Lawyers Association, distinguished guests,
I am deeply honored and privileged to serve as the President of the Nigerian American Lawyers Association. For the next two years, our goal is to Build Together an organization that advances justice for mankind.
Foremost, we want to invite all American lawyers of Nigerian descent, as well as students, friends, and all others, to join us and help build a better community of Nigerians in the United States. Let’s build chapters from the East to the West Coast; let’s lift each other up; and most importantly, let’s protect our world.
Second, it is undisputed that the law plays a vital role in shaping lives and strengthening the fabric of every community. As Nigerian American lawyers, we stand at a crossroads that enables us to harness the best of both worlds. We pledge to fulfill the organization’s mission, to hold the flags up amid turmoil, and to serve with all our might and strength as the social engineers that we are.
Third, we are incredibly grateful for the trust placed in our executive board, and we hold dear the standards of integrity, transparency, and dedication. Let us embark on this journey together, united in our purpose and driven by our shared passion for justice and equity. Indeed, as George Washington postulated, we should “Remember that it is the actions, and not the Commission, that make the officer, and that there is more expected from him, than the title.”
Lastly, our deepest gratitude goes to the founders and past leaders of the Nigerian American Lawyers Association. Your vision and dedication have paved the way for our success. We stand today on their shoulders and are committed to building on that legacy.
Together, let’s forge a path of unity and success for those who follow.
Thank you.
Chike C. Ogbuehi
